To promote and encourage promising talent in the field of classical music the Sabha instituted an award in 2005, viz., ‘Yuva Kala Prathibha’ and later in 2009, in memory of the legendary musician Sri. Mavelikkara R. Prabhakara Varma, it has been re-named as ‘Mavelikkara Prabhakara Varma Yuva Kala Prathiba’ Puraskaram. This, also, consists of a citation, memento & cash prize and being given away at the annual celebrations of the Sabha every year.
